Manchester United might already have perfect right-wing signing for 2023

If you don't know about Brennan Johnson yet, it won't be long before you do. Manchester United supporters, and full-backs, will come face-to-face with the Nottingham Forest starlet next season and will need to find a way to subdue one of the rising talents of world football.

Johnson, who has only just turned 21, was one of the stars of the recent international break for the Welsh national side, shining from the bench in their World Cup play-off win over Ukraine and netting goals against Belgium and the Netherlands in the Nations League.

He scored 21 goals and notched 10 assists as Forest returned to the top-flight of English football. His reward will be minutes in the Premier League and the World Cup before the end of the calendar year.

It will come as no surprise to learn that Johnson won the EFL Young Player of the Season for his efforts, having registered the highest number of goal contributions of any U21 player in English professional football. The Welsh winger looks set to be the next lower league star who will go on to light up the top-flight — and his recent performances should have United on high alert for a deal.

Johnson played the majority of his matches this season as part of a two-pronged Forest attack, though a good chunk of those appearances also came from the right wing, meaning he'd potentially address two areas of concern with the current United squad.
