Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick reacts to Cristiano Ronaldo's latest full-time exit

Ralf Rangnick has downplayed Cristiano Ronaldo's swift exit following the conclusion of Manchester United's draw with Burnley.

Ronaldo dashed off the pitch at full-time without shaking hands with any opponents or acknowledging the United supporters at the end opposite to the away dressing room.

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dropped Ronaldo to the bench and he emerged for a 1-1 draw with Everton in October, it has become almost routine for the Portuguese to immediately head for the tunnel at full-time. Ronaldo did so at Chelsea, where he started on the bench before emerging in a 1-1 draw, and also after starting in a draw (Newcastle away) and a win (Norwich away).

"It's a question you have to ask to Cristiano," Rangnick said. "I only realised that after the game. This is not a question I can answer."

Rangnick had earlier noted a reporter's 'good question' that was framed 'in a smart and clever way, I know what you are aiming at'. Rangnick is said to receiving advice from the football journalist Raphael Honigstein, who has operated in the background without meeting any members of the media who cover United.

Following Rangnick's appointment, Honigstein replied to the United Twitter account to recommend they refer to him as 'Rangnick' rather than Ralf.

A reporter informed Rangnick the United press office has not granted the dedicated club correspondents any access to Ronaldo since his return in August and the German was asked to amplify on the Portuguese's brisk departure at Turf Moor.

"Cristiano, as we all know, is 37. I think he knows himself what he should do or should not do and what he has to do. Our focus is on those things we can influence and develop.

"What he didn't do, why he left the pitch directly after the final
