Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag gives fresh Marcus Rashford injury update

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has admitted that he does not know how long he will be without leading goalscorer Marcus Rashford.

The England international, who has plundered 29 goals in all competitions this season, was ruled out of the clash with Wolves at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon because of a leg injury. Ten Hag confirmed that the academy graduate was a "doubtful" during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

Rashford, who has seen his career resurrected this season, has been an almost ever-present figure for the Reds this season, certainly in the Premier League. The clash with Wolves marked just the second league game that he has missed all season.

Ten Hag was quizzed on Rashford's injury and the length of time he may be sidelined for by one of the rights holders ahead of kick-off, confirming that it is hard to put a timescale on how long the 25-year-old will be sidelined for.

"I can't tell [what the latest is] in this moment," Ten Hag told BBC Sport ahead of kick-off. "He is not available. So for this moment, we have to focus on the team who is available.

"We have a good team and it's a good squad. We have to win this game."

The Dutchman added: "I can't tell in this moment [how long he will be out for] and as I say, it's not my focus point in this moment.

"I hope [he will be back soon]. Of course. And he will do everything that can be done. The medical staff is working hard on it, but I am focused, and my team are focusing, on this game."
