Manchester United legend Bryan Robson agrees with Gary Neville's verdict on Hannibal Mejbri

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has joined Gary Neville in singling out Hannibal Mejbri for praise after his cameo against Liverpool.

The 19-year-old was a rare bright spark for United on an otherwise dismal night at Anfield as they were thrashed 4-0 by their old rivals. Hannibal came off the bench with just over five minutes to go as he made his first senior appearance of the season.

The teenager didn’t waste any time in making an impact on the game as he flew into a number of challenges and managed to pick up a yellow card despite spending just 10 minutes on the pitch. The Tunisia international was perhaps lucky to escape any further punishment, but his commitment was praised.

Neville was glowing in his assessment of Hannibal, saying he felt 'proud' of the youngster. And former United captain Robson heaped even more praise on him as he discussed his performance on MUTV.

“You have to have control, and Hannibal took that right to the edge. I quite liked it,” Robson said. “The fans want to see someone who cares. The kid only had five minutes so at least he showed some pride.”

United fans have called for Hannibal to be given more playing time before the end of the season, with just five games remaining in the campaign. With Paul Pogba limping off at Anfield and Fred and Scott McTominay both currently out injured, he may well get more opportunities to impress.
