Manchester United 'learn' Kyle Walker-Peters price tag and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have reportedly been told they'll need to pay as much as £40million if they are to sign Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton.

The 25-year-old progressed through the ranks at Tottenham and has developed even further during his time on the south coast. Southampton paid close to £12million for his services in 2020.

Reports from The Athletic suggest United have Walker-Peters firmly on their radar. His former club Tottenham have a £30m buy-back option. Arsenal and Everton are also said to be interested.

Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to a viral post suggesting his car was spotted at Sporting Lisbon's stadium amid rumours he could be set to rejoin his former club.

Ronaldo had asked to be allowed to leave United should the club receive a satisfactory offer this summer. Ronaldo’s future has been the subject of much speculation since he returned to United last year.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was linked with a move to Bayern Munich earlier in the window, although the German club went on to deny the rumours. Meanwhile, United have insisted that Ronaldo is not for sale.

Ronaldo is yet to attend pre-season training due to family issues, and an image of what fans believe to be his car at Sporting's stadium was shared on social media recently along with the caption: "Sporting with more hopes in the hiring of Cristiano Ronaldo. There is a photo circulating on social media that they say is of the Portuguese's car in the garage of Estádio José Alvalade."

Ronaldo has now responded to the report, writing on the post: "Fake."
