Manchester United 'leapfrog' Chelsea in race for £60m PSG ace and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Achraf Hakimi and prepared to move for the Paris Saint-Germain player this summer.

Football Insider report PSG are open to offers for the right-back, with Chelsea also said to be interested in Hakimi. United are better positioned than their rivals, though, as the west London club are struggling to put together a financial package that would tempt the Ligue 1 outfit.

Their asking price stands at £60million, and the Reds are said to be willing to sanction such a fee after preparing their summer transfer budget. While they may have leapfrogged Chelsea, competition exists from elsewhere across Europe, with Hakimi's preference to join a club competing in the Champions League next season.

Elsewhere, Football Insider report that Tottenham Hotspur are huge admirers of Dean Henderson and could move for the United goalkeeper this summer should Nottingham Forest fail to avoid relegation from the Premier League. The England international will likely leave Old Trafford permanently in the coming months.

Forest, where the 26-year-old is spending this season on loan, will propose a permanent deal only if they secure another season in the top flight. Staying at the City Ground would be off the table should they return to the Championship, with Henderson keen on staying in the Premier League next season.

Such a scenario could play into Spurs' hands, who need a new goalkeeper this summer if Hugo Lloris leaves. Their captain departing would appear to offer the consistent first-team football in north London that Henderson will no doubt be seeking.
