Manchester United join Arsenal in Fabian Ruiz battle and other transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly ready to join the race for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz ahead of a possible bidding war with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal.

Contract negotiations at current club Napoli have stalled and, as a result, has prompted interest from the two Spanish clubs as well as United. Last month, it was reported that the Reds were leading the race to sign the 25-year-old and Tuttomercato Web now reports that an extension is off the table.

Ruiz, who earns considerably less than other targets on the market is a versatile player who can play in the holding role or further advanced in the hole behind the strikers. United have highlighted their midfield department as the 'biggest problem' ahead of their preparations for the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are reportedly set to make a U-turn and offer Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Reds in recent seasons as well as in January as he looked likely to leave the Camp Nou.

But according to Sport via the Express, Xavi is looking to offer a two-year extension at the La Liga side with Dembele reportedly 'open' to an agreement due to his gratitude towards the Barca manager.
