Manchester United 'interested' in Brazilian wonderkid Marcos Leonardo and more transfer rumours

Santos striker Marcos Leonardo is reportedly a transfer target for Manchester United.

The Brazilian has netted three goals in two games at the U20 World Cup, which is currently taking place in Argentina. According to the Daily Mail, the Reds have sent scouts to the tournament who have been left particularly impressed by Leonardo.

The forward has reportedly also caught the attention of Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, and West Ham, with the Hammers having previously made an offer for the player in January and are anticipated to make another one this summer.

Leonardo, who is compared to Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero in terms of playing style, has previously declared that former United forward Cristiano Ronaldo is his hero. The youngster has netted 41 goals in 140 appearances for Santos, but is under contract with the Brazilian outfit until 2026.

Elsewhere, The Mirror reports that United's bid to bring Brentford goalkeeper David Raya to Old Trafford this summer has "taken a step closer" following the Bees' signing of Freiburg's Mark Flekken.

The south London side brought in the Netherlands international for £11million on Wednesday, with the report claiming he is likely to become a direct replacement for Raya who is set to depart the club this summer. It is claimed the Spanish goalkeeper could be Erik ten Hag's first signing of the summer, with Brentford demanding a £40million fee for him.
