Manchester United 'interested' in Andre Onana and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are one of three Premier League clubs keeping an eye on Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to reports in Italy.

Onana has quickly established himself as a fan-favourite among the Nerrazzuri fanbase, replacing the veteran Samir Handanović after signing on a free transfer from Ajax last summer. The Cameroonian international has kept 13 clean sheets in 27 appearances, helping Simone Inzaghi's side to third in Serie A and the Champions League quarter-finals.

His performances have attracted interest from a trio of Premier League clubs all eyeing a new goalkeeper this summer, with Gazzetta Dello Sport reporting that United are joined by Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in monitoring the 26-year-old going into the final months of the season.

The report adds that Onana will not agitate to leave San Siro, nor will Inter look to sell their shot-stopper after just one season, but suggests a 'mind-boggling' offer could force both to make a decision. United are expected to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper at some point in the next 12 months, with David De Gea's current contract running out in 2024.

Both club and player are hopeful that the Spaniard can pen a fresh deal, although it is expected to be short-term ahead of a more permanent signing.

Elsewhere, Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Newcastle United had a €100million bid rejected by Napoli in a previous window and that the Italian side plan on keeping their talismanic striker.
