Manchester United have three routes to securing dream Victor Osimhen transfer
Few players have mastered the art of scoring goals better than Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in recent seasons.
The Manchester United-linked striker has been a reliable source of goals over the last few years, scoring 85 times since the beginning of the 2022/23 season. He spent last season on loan at Galatasaray and scored a very impressive 37 goals in just 41 appearances.
Unsurprisingly, the Turkish club want to re-sign the Nigerian on a permanent basis this summer. In fact, they have already called on Osimhen to make a decision on his future as quickly as possible.
Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu, speaking during the week, said: "Osimhen must decide as soon as possible. He always asks us for time, we respect that, he has a family too, but time runs out.
"We have made a much higher offer than other European clubs and at the moment we are not negotiating other strikers. We are not thinking about plan B, we want Osimhen."
Napoli are open to selling Osimhen this summer after he fell out with head coach Antonio Conte almost a year ago. Director Giovanni Manna admitted as far back as February, the Serie A champions want his future sorted out as quickly as possible.
Amid their desperate need for a striker this summer, United have frequently been linked with the 26-year-old in recent months. Other clubs from across Europe and Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, who have been rejected by Osimhen, have also been circling.
After gambling on potential with Rasmus Hojlund in 2023 and Joshua Zirkzee last summer, United need to sign a striker with a proven goalscoring record this summer. Osimhen ticks that particular box.
The elephant in the room for United, though, is that they do not have an unlimited budget to turn to this
