Manchester United have been told what they needed to hear if they want wildcard transfer solution

Manchester United are walking a Financial Fair Play tightrope this month as they look to breathe life into their season.

United have been honest about expecting a quiet January. They deem this to be an inopportune time to do business but the facts do not lie. The Reds are incredibly goal-shy this season and while Rasmus Hojlund has potential, he is by no means in a position to lead the line for United consistently. Therefore, a new centre forward will be at the top of most fans' wishlists.

Sadly, the currently linked crop of strikers leave very little room for optimism. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Timo Werner and Serhou Guirassy are all gambles for different reasons but there is an option that has yet to be considered and could be what the Reds need.

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-chan is enjoying a fine season and has managed to cement himself as Gary O'Neil's talisman. In a lot of ways he has similar characteristics to Hojlund.

He is strong, quick, but crucially has got used to the Premier League and is in good form. At Wolves, he will have become accustomed to having fewer chances provided for him so the minimal creativity problem on the United flanks would not faze him.
