Manchester United give Alejandro Garnacho injury update

Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho is back in training as he moves closer to a return from injury, although he will not be available to play against Tottenham.

Garnacho has been absent with injury since United's draw against Southampton on March 12. He made an appearance from the bench that day, but he was given medical treatment after appearing to get caught between Kyle Walker-Peters' legs.

The winger attempted to continue and he returned to the pitch, but he was eventually substituted off with a minute of normal time remaining. He then headed straight down the tunnel and left the stadium on crutches.

Garnacho shared an image of himself wearing football boots at Carrington for the first time since that injury last week and Erik ten Hag, speaking on Wednesday afternoon, confirmed the player is training on grass again.

"Bruno [Fernandes], we have to wait," Ten Hag told United's in-house media when asked if Fernandes would be available against Spurs on Thursday night. "He is obviously a question mark. He had a big kick in the first half but he played the game, over 90 minutes, and even in extra-time. But then he went off. We've all seen.

"He's not excluded for tomorrow but he is a question mark. Garnacho is back on the pitch but he's not ready for the game tomorrow."

Garnacho, who currently finds himself at the centre of a club-vs-country row after being called up to Argentina's squad for the U20 World Cup, is expected to be available before the end of the campaign.
