Manchester United fans respond to Alejandro Garnacho's new contract in predictable fashion

Manchester United fans have reacted positively to Alejandro Garnacho signing a new contract with the Reds as he prepares for his comeback from injury.

Garnacho - who has signed a new deal until 2028 - has impressed in his breakthrough campaign at United, registering four goals and five assists in 29 appearances in all competitions. The 18-year-old attacker has missed the last seven weeks with an ankle injury.

The news about his new deal comes after it was confirmed the club would not allow Garnacho to represent Argentina at the Under-20 World Cup next month. Reports in South America claimed the United man was set to be included in coach Javier Mascherano's squad, which would have seen him miss the Reds' last few games of the season, including the FA Cup final.

The tournament in Argentina starts on May 20, which is the same day United travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League. After that game, Erik ten Hag's side take on Chelsea and Fulham, before clashing with Manchester City at Wembley on June 3.

The Reds will be looking forward to getting Garnacho back involved in the action, with Ten Hag suggesting the player could return from his lay-off next week.
