Manchester United fans protest against the Glazers before Erik ten Hag’s first game

Manchester United supporters took part in a large protest against the club’s owners the Glazers prior to Erik ten Hag’s first match in charge.

Ahead of United’s first Premier League game of the season against Brighton on Sunday, thousands of fans marched from the BBC Dockyard forecourt in Media City to Old Trafford, with banners and chants calling for the end of the Glazers’ ownership.

There have been numerous protests against the Glazers over the years, this particular one organised by the supporters group The 1958, who released the following statement on Twitter:

‘The Glazers are unfit and improper owners. We have shown this over the summer with our digital campaign and revealing other confirmed information about exactly the type of family they are.

‘We will always support the club. We will always support the manager.

‘We will always rise up against the current owners and any puppet hierarchy they appoint. Join us, stand with us, unite with us to make a stand for what is right.
