Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe net worth falls by £6bn as new figures released

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has dropped down to fourth in the Sunday Times Rich List for 2024.

The annual list includes the wealthiest people or families who reside in the United Kingdom ranked by net wealth. This year's edition includes 350 individuals and families with a combined wealth of £795.361bn and is topped by businessman Gopi Hinduja and his family for the third successive year.

Jim Ratcliffe has seen his net worth fall this year with the Ineos founder having an estimated net worth of £23.519billion. The 71-year-old was second on the list in 2023 with an estimated net worth of £29.688bn.

It was confirmed on Christmas Eve last year that Ratcliffe and his Ineos group would purchase a stake in Man United. The deal was made official in February when it was announced that the billionaire's total stake would be 27.7 percent.

Ratcliffe's Ineos now run football operations at Old Trafford and have already made several notable changes. Omar Berrada is set to become the club's new CEO having arrived from rivals Manchester City and will officially begin his role this summer.

Jason Wilcox has also joined from Southampton as technical director whilst the club are looking to agree compensation with Newcastle over director of football Dan Ashworth.
