Manchester United fans name Roy Keane role that Eric Bailly could perform vs Man City

Some Manchester United supporters have been discussing why it could be useful for Ralf Rangnick to include Eric Bailly in his starting line-up for Sunday's clash with Manchester City.

United, who were held to a goalless draw by Watford on Saturday afternoon, will make the short hop to the Etihad Stadium aiming to get revenge on their rivals after the 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford back in November. An own-goal from Bailly and an instinctive finish from Bernardo Silva sealed the win for City that day, with Pep Guardiola's side untroubled.

United were under the stewardship of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the time and were all over the place defensively, with City making them pay. Defensive frailties have remained a huge problem for United this season, highlighted by their tally of just seven clean sheets in the league.

Rangnick has not hesitated to rotate his centre-back options in recent matches, with Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire lining up alongside each other in the 4-2 win over Leeds and Raphael Varane partnering Lindelof against Watford. United, of course, earned a clean sheet against the Hornets, so the German could be tempted to continue with both Lindelof in Varane in the heart of the defence

However, some United supporters believe Bailly should be drafted into the defence against City — despite the Ivory Coast international having only played once for the Reds this calendar year. He's only made three appearances in all competitions since Rangnick took charge.

Nevertheless, United supporters, looking ahead to Sunday's clash with City, want to see him reintroduced to the side. Discussing the topic on a United reddit
