Manchester United fans love Bruno Fernandes' response to Scott McTominay's return to training

Manager Erik ten Hag could include Scott McTominay in his plans for Saturday's clash with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium after the midfielder returned to training earlier this week.

The Scotland international, 26, has missed each of the Reds' last nine matches after suffering an injury in the aftermath of the 2-0 win over Everton on April 8, in which he scored the game's opening goal. Up until that juncture, McTominay was enjoying a run of four consecutive starts.

His return to training earlier this week was a welcomed boost for United, after it was confirmed that on-loan midfielder Marcel Sabitzer will miss the rest of the campaign through injury. The Reds have been light on numbers in the engine room at various junctures this season.

Therefore, McTominay's seemingly imminent return could not have been better timed for Ten Hag and the Reds, who will be hoping to take another giant stride towards securing a top four spot this weekend. The club announced on Wednesday that McTominay, as well as Marcus Rashford, who missed last Saturday's 2-0 win over Wolves with a leg problem, had trained at Carrington.

On Thursday, the midfielder, who has scored three goals this season, took to Instagram to address his return to training, writing: "Back on the grass training with the boys," accompanied with the praying hands emoji.

The Instagram post attracted a whole host of responses from United supporters, as is often the case when any player shares anything on their social media accounts, as well as a comment from Bruno Fernandes, who simply replied: "Finally," accompanied with a smirking face emoji, suggesting that he is pleased to see his teammate back and now closing in on a return.
