Manchester United fans fume as Nottingham Forest transfer confirmed

Manchester United are split on the news that goalkeeper Dean Henderson has been allowed to leave the club on loan this summer.

The England international made just three appearances across all competitions last season as their number two behind first-choice David de Gea. This is Henderson's sixth separate loan away from Old Trafford.

Some Man United fans believe that the 25-year-old could still become the Spain international's successor as soon as next summer. Here is a selection of the social media reaction to Forest confirming the loan signing of Henderson...

This is really sad. It's probably the third year running that David de Gea should have been sold and Dean Henderson should have been instated as number one, but the opposite is happening. Not sure how many more seasons we need to go through to confirm what has been obvious for three years.

Good luck to Henderson. Premier League player but still not good enough to play for Man Utd. If he becomes even better, especially with his positioning and shot-stopping, he might have a chance of replacing De Gea after he returns.

That was a desperately needed move for Henderson. That also rules out the possibility of James Garner going back to Forest on loan. You’d have to imagine a sale is unlikely. His pre-season tour will be very interesting to watch. A regular place is certainly up for grabs.

Think Henderson will do well for Forest and it’s sensible to loan him out again rather than sell him. Next summer we have to stop stalling and make a decision… either he is made
