Manchester United fans frustrated as MUTV academy coverage reduced this season
Manchester United will continue to provide dedicated academy coverage where they can with their resources.
United's academy is the beating heart of the club and the Under-18s' stunning treble-winning season in 2023/24 shows they remain at the forefront of youth development.
The club's academy has a large following around the world and MUTV have regularly shown U18s and Under-21s fixtures over the years, so fans can keep up to date with the development of United's youngsters, but in-house coverage has been indirectly impacted by job losses.
There have been four matches between U18 and U21 level this season and MUTV didn't broadcast those games, which left fans wondering why the coverage had disappeared.

However, Friday’s U21 game against Blackburn will be shown on MUTV, along with Saturday’s U18 match against Liverpool and a source has reiterated the club recognises and appreciates the significant interest that its supporters have in the development of its youth players.
Sometimes U21 games can't be shown on MUTV because they clash with Premier League fixtures, but sources have conceded that media resources need to be stretched across the men's, women's and academy teams, which means United are forced to make compromises.
The words 'hard choices' have been used within United about what to cover and the club reluctantly feel they can't capture everything across the several different teams.
United fans have questioned why the coverage of the academy has been impacted this season but the club insist they remain committed to covering the youth system.
