Manchester United fans agree with Alejandro Garnacho message after breakthrough season

Alejandro Garnacho has reflected on a memorable season for him personally at Manchester United.

The 17-year-old, who joined the club from Atletico Madrid in October 2020, has experienced a season to remember at Old Trafford for a variety of reasons. He stepped off the bench in the closing stages of last month's 1-1 draw with Chelsea to make his senior debut and made a late appearance against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

As well as being handed two first-team appearances by outgoing boss Ralf Rangnick, he also played a key role in helping the U18s become the first United team to win the FA Youth Cup since 2011. He scored seven goals across the course of their cup-winning campaign, including two goals in the 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest in the final earlier this month.

As well as that, Garnacho was also included in the Argentina senior squad, earning the opportunity to rub shoulders with Lionel Messi. His fortunes have attracted a wave of attention in recent months and United's fans are hugely excited about his future, especially under new manager Erik ten Hag, who carries a reputation for developing youth.

The youngster has chosen to reflect on a memorable campaign, suggesting that what has happened this season was nothing short of a dream back in August. On his Instagram page, Garnacho said: "If at the beginning of the season you tell me everything that has happened to me... a season to remember. Thanks to @manchesterunited."
