Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot a 'priority' for Barcelona and more transfer rumours

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot is a 'transfer priority' in the summer for Spanish giants Barcelona, according to reports.

As per SPORT, the 23-year-old's impressive start to the season under Erik ten Hag has caught the eye of the Catalan outfit, who are said to be in the market for a new right back. The report claims that the Portugal international is the club's next 'priority' signing and that they will look to recruit him next year.

Dalot's contract expires at the end of the current season, however, the Reds have an option to extend it by a further year, which the club are expected to do. It is thought that a number of other clubs - including Juventus and AC Milan - are also interested in the defender.

Since arriving at Old Trafford from Porto, Dalot has made 75 appearances for the Reds, where he has registered one goal and five assists.

Elsewhere, the Mirror have reported that United had scouts watching Benfica youngster Antonio Silva against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week as they continue to monitor his progress.

The 18-year-old has made an impressive start to the season for the Portuguese club, which has led to interest from a number of clubs around the globe. The report adds that United are keen to add a quality young defender next summer, with Silva fitting the bill.

Silva's deal with Benfica runs until 2027, but it is said to contain a release clause of around £13million, which the club are actively trying to increase.

The young centre-back has featured on 10 occasions for Benfica so far this term, which has included three appearances in the Champions League.
