Manchester United defender Brandon Williams trolls Man City after treble win

Manchester United's Brandon Williams took aim at Manchester City on social media platform after watching them complete their own historic treble against Inter Milan.

After wrapping-up Premier League and FA Cup success this season, City finally got their hands on the big one and became European champions for the first time. A second-half winner from Rodri was enough for Pep Guardiola and his star-studded team on Saturday night in the Champions League final, as they emulated United's achievement in 1999.

Celebrated on the blue side in Istanbul and beyond, United supporters have had to face the music on social media, fighting back by flying the flag for Sir Alex Ferguson and his heroes and reminding their "noisy neighbours" it was United who first won the treble.

Williams added to that on his Instagram story with a short response to what City have achieved. Posting three red devil emojis, he said: "Nobody wants a sloppy seconds..."

City, despite not being at their best on Saturday night - and losing Kevin De Bruyne to injury in the first half, reigned supreme against Inter when Rodri popped up with the winner. Erling Haaland and Phil Foden passed up further chances, while Romelu Lukaku spurned a golden opportunity to equalise for the Serie A side.

Williams, meanwhile, wasted no time in responding as he took to social media straight-after the final whistle.

Having progressed through the United Academy system, Williams has played 51 games for United since his debut, although he only made one cameo appearance under Erik ten Hag last season and is understood to have been made available for transfer when the market reopens this summer.
