Manchester United could offer Victor Osimhen ideal Napoli escape route

It's been quite a week for Victor Osimhen at Napoli.

The striker's agent has said he is reserving "the right to take legal action" against his current club after the team posted a bizarre, now-deleted video to TikTok seemingly mocking the player. A video was posted featuring a clip of the striker’s penalty miss from their match against Bologna on Sunday, with an odd, sped-up voice dubbed over the top.

Osimhen then took down nearly all Napoli-related posts from his Instagram account, before returning to the starting XI and getting on the scoresheet during his side's 4-1 win over Udinese on Wednesday. Following the win, Napoli boss Rudi Garcia opened up on the incident from earlier in the week, saying: "Over the last two days there was a bit of trouble with some clumsy behaviour. Nobody wanted to be hurtful, not the TikTok with the video of Victor, nor Victor by taking his photographs down on social media.

"Nobody intended to hurt anyone, these are instinctive reactions and are understandable. It is his social media account, he can do what he wants with it. All I can say is that he loves this jersey and will give everything for Napoli this season as well."

The odd turn of events comes after Osimhen fired Napoli to a first league title in three decades, with 31 goals across all competitions last season. That form led to clubs across Europe casting admiring glances in the Nigerian forward's direction, but he ultimately remained in Italy as those same sides baulked at the transfer fee it would take to sign him.
