Manchester United ‘contact agent' of 23-goal Mexico striker and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have supposedly made contact with the representatives of Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez regarding a potential summer coup.

The Mexico international has scored 23 goals this season, including 10 in 26 Eredivisie games with his club eight points clear at the top of the table. United are primarily searching for a goal-getting forward this summer with Harry Kane the bullseye.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is also on the radar, as are Mohammed Kudus of Ajax, Goncalo Ramos of Benfica, Ramus Hojland of Atalanta and Randal Kolo Mauni of Frankfurt. Erik ten Hag is also eager to bolster his midfield options.

It is believed that the 21-year-old striker - who has two goals in nine Mexico caps - has a release clause of €20m (£17.5m), making him an affordable acquisition.

Meanwhile, a report from Football Insider claims that Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been told he can leave United in the summer. The right-back has enjoyed a thrilling comeback after playing just four minutes of first-team football before the World Cup, and has frequently been selected ahead of Diogo Dalot.

However, amid reports that United are circling Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong, the report says Wan-Bissaka’s exit could be triggered. The 25-year-old was offered to clubs last summer but no suitable takers came forward.
