Manchester United 'consider Denzel Dumfries swap deal' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are poised to snap up Denzel Dumfries when the market reopens - according to reports - and Diogo Dalot could head in the other direction.

Dumfries, 26, has long-since been linked with a move to Old Trafford and United were seen to be in the quest for his signature when he left PSV in 2021. Inter are expected to cash in on the Netherlands international during the summer transfer window.

Having impressed at the World Cup, as well as making 30 appearances for the Italian giants in all competitions this season, Dumfries has re-emerged on the radar for United as Erik ten Hag sets his sights on summer targets. Ten Hag wants two high-profile recruits to continue his rebuild.

With one of them being a central midfielder and the other a prolific striker - with Harry Kane the prime target - there are no concrete plans to strengthen at right-back as things stand. However, reports from Gazzetta dello Sport indicate United could make an exception for Dumfries.

No would-be fee has been mooted for the player. However, the same article does say Inter are "interested" in Dalot and that could have a significant impact on what happens with their own right-back.

Elsewhere, reports from The Guardian claim Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers of around £50-55million for Mason Mount with the England midfielder only having 15 months left to run on his contract. United have been tentatively linked with a swoop for the player, along with rivals Liverpool.
