Manchester United confirm 25-man Premier League squad

Erik ten Hag has confirmed his 25-man Manchester United squad for the Premier League season.

United signed Martin Dubravka, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Antony this summer and all six of the new signings have been named in the squad, which was officially confirmed for the 2022/23 season on Wednesday.

The Premier League's rules outline that each squad contains no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the 'Home Grown Player' criteria, which means the rest of the squad must be homegrown and Cristiano Ronaldo is an example of a player eligible for that list.

A player considered homegrown must have played for an FA-affiliated club for at least three years before turning 21.

Nathon Bishop, Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Luke Shaw, Axel Tuanzebe and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are the other seven players that are homegrown alongside Ronaldo, who joined the club from Sporting Libson in 2003 aged 17.

Anthony Elanga, 20, and Alejandro Garnacho, 18, have both regularly featured in the first-team squad this season, but the Premier League outlines that they do not need to be named in the squad, as they are under 21 years of age.

That explains their omission from the 25-squad and the full squad can be viewed below:
