Manchester United can sign their own Didier Drogba during summer transfer window

Manchester United can sign their very own Didier Drogba when the market reopens and Jose Mourinho has already given the player in question - Victor Osimhen - his seal of approval.

Whether you love or loathe the charismatic Portuguese manager, there can be no denying his Premier League success with Chelsea and Mourinho knows better than most what Drogba could produce. So his comparisons between the former Blues frontman and United target Osimhen must not be ignored.

Having allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to move on mid-season, United are planning to sign a long-term successor during the summer transfer window and Osimhen is being tracked in that regard after netting 19 goals for the Serie A champions-elect this campaign. Two of those, incidentally, came in winning causes against Mourinho's plucky fourth-placed Roma.

As one of the hottest properties in Europe right now, Osimhen will almost certainly cost £100million plus if he decides to move on. But is he worth such a jaw-dropping outlay?

Mourinho appears to think so, although his glowing assessment of the Napoli sensation came with one caveat as he called on the 24-year-old to stop diving if he touches down in the Premier League. Osimhen has followed that up by outlining his dream to play in the English top flight.

Drogba, meanwhile, is renowned as being one of the best strikers in Premier League history. Across two spells with Chelsea, the former Ivory Coast international bagged 164 goals in 381 games and won four league titles as well as settling the Champions League final in 2012 with his decisive penalty in a shootout.
