Manchester United can copy Liverpool FC transfer plan to give Erik ten Hag his dream signing

There is now just a week to go until the shutters will come down on this summer's transfer window.

Manchester United have so far added four new faces to their ranks and remain determined to do more business before the 11pm deadline next Thursday evening. Brazilian international Casemiro became the latest addition to Erik ten Hag's squad earlier this week, finalising his move to Old Trafford from Real Madrid on Monday.

His move to M16 has, at long last, brought an end to United's search for a much-needed defensive-midfielder. He will fill a huge hole in the team and the supporters are now excited to see him make his debut for the club, which could arrive as soon as Saturday's trip to Southampton.

Casemiro, along with fellow new recruit Lisandro Martinez, has strengthened a key area of the squad, meaning Ten Hag is edging closer towards completing his jigsaw. While strengthening at centre-back and in central-midfield were leading priorities for United this summer, another objective on their to-do list was to add another right-winger to their ranks. That is a box that remains unticked.

United, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, want to add Ajax sensation Antony to the squad before the window closes and are readying a fresh bid for his signature. The 22-year-old, who played no part in Ajax's 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday afternoon, was identified as Ten Hag's top target to strengthen the right-wing berth before the transfer window had even opened, meaning United's willingness to launch a new offer for him is not as a result of last-minute panicking with a week to go.
