Manchester United are running out of time to complete Gary Neville's transfer wish

Manchester United have announced that they have reached an agreement with Ajax to sign Antony, meaning the Brazilian is poised to become their fifth signing of the summer transfer window.

The Reds, who will be going in search of a third successive win when they travel to Leicester City on Thursday night, have agreed a deal worth £85.5million to secure the 22-year-old's signature. He will join the club subject to passing his medical, putting the finishing touches to personal terms and securing international clearance.

He has been a leading target for United throughout the summer, with manager Erik ten Hag, who worked with him at Ajax, having long since identified him as his favoured choice to strengthen his attacking options. He will join Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in being added to the squad this summer.

Rashford and Martial, however, can also operate through the middle, meaning either of those two could still feature in a front-three consisting of Antony and Sancho.

However, it remains to be seen if Cristiano Ronaldo will still be at the club come Thursday night's 11pm deadline. Should he still be a United player, it will create an even bigger selection headache for Ten Hag.

Regardless of what the next couple of days or so hold for Ronaldo and his future, United are not set to bring another out-and-out centre-forward in before the bell
