I was sold after telling Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag I wanted a transfer

PSV Eindhoven star Noa Lang has previously opened up about his acrimonious departure from Ajax under Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

The 24-year-old made 14 appearances for the United boss during his tenure with the Eredivisie giants. Lang was handed an opportunity in the first-team, after rising through the ranks at De Toekomst, making his debut under Ten Hag as a 19-year-old in 2019.

Throughout his time in Amsterdam, he struggled to cement a place in the first-team, featuring as a bit-part player before he expressed his desire for first-team minutes in 2019. As a result, he spent time on loan with FC Twente then a temporary spell in Belgian at Club Brugge before completing a permanent move in 2021.

"Do you know how difficult that decision was? I can be tough, but I had to let go several times. I felt so at home, but was driven to the exit." But my departure was certainly not only the fault of Ajax," the 24-year-old admitted. "I have had my stupid moments, I did not behave well. It is also largely my fault.

“It is clear that things were not right between the trainer and me. Everyone loved me at Ajax, except for one person. Many people think I am a funny, cheerful little guy who can
