Manchester United £45m transfer twist emerges as £13m 'offer' made
Manchester United are reportedly set to be rivalled by Napoli in the race for Moise Kean.
The 25-year-old saw his release clause at Fiorentina become active on July 1, and it will remain active until July 15. Despite having four years remaining on his contract, the Serie A side would be obligated to let him leave if another club triggers his £45million clause during this brief window.
It's no secret that the Reds are looking to strengthen their attacking options this window and have been linked with several potential targets. One of them is Kean, whose stint at Everton in 2019 was underwhelming – scoring just two goals in 29 league appearances.
But it appears United are not the only club interested in the striker.
Italian publication Corriere dello Sport are reporting that Napoli are weighing a move for the former Juventus man after facing setbacks in their attempts to sign Lorenzo Lucca and Darwin Nunez from Udinese and Liverpool, respectively.
Additionally, it is claimed that Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah have attempted to get ahead of the competition by submitting a €15million-per-season (£13m) offer for the Italian.
However, he is reportedly holding out for an opportunity to stay in Europe.
Despite the Reds' links to Kean, the report further suggests they have yet to make any formal offer to the player.
A move for the Italian could all hinge on whether a sale for Rasmus Hojlund is sealed.
