Manchester to host 2022’s One Young World summit

Manchester will host the One Young World summit this year.

The global forum for young leaders will take place in September 2022 at the Manchester central conference centre.

The opening ceremony will be held at Bridgewater Hall where more than 2,000 young leaders from all over the world will gather.

Delegates from more than 190 countries will be in attendance from September 5 to 8 for a variety of speeches, panels, workshops and networking sessions covering topics such as ensuring health equity for all, gender equality and more.

Originally, the 2022 summit was set to take place in Tokyo, but a decision was made to switch cities to ensure as many delegates from around the world are able to attend.

This is the third time the One Young World summit will take place in England, having previously taken place in London in 2010 and 2019.

The summit brings together the brightest young people from all sectors and places and gets them working with a network of ambassadors to make a social impact.

Since launching in 2009, One Young World’s young leaders have directly impacted more than 30 million people across the globe.

One Young World has built a network of more than 13,500 ambassadors and in previous years, the leaders of the summit have included Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Duchess of Sussex, President Mary Robinson, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the late Kofi Annan, and Emma Watson.
