Manchester's best dressed reveal their favourite trends of the summer

From bright block colours to flattering floral prints, there have been dozens of stylish trends that have taken over many fashion lovers' wardrobes this summer. With Y2K fashion continuing to remain popular over the summer season, there’s been a huge increase in other trends such as goth glam and basic 90s everyday wear.

Some standout pieces that dominated mainstream fashion over the past few months included linen coords, flowy summer dresses, cowboycore, skorts and what seems to be the most popular and influential trend - cargos.

If you had told me five years ago that Crocs were going to suddenly become cool, I wouldn’t have believed you, but the foam clogs have been one of the most popular shoes of the summer, alongside classic Doc Martens and of course, Birkenstocks.

We went around the city centre asking people what their favourite fashion trend of the summer was as a part of our Steal Their Style series.

Michelle Tschuma

Michelle Tschuma had the most colour coordinated and stylish fits of the day. It's clear the 29-year-old from Droylsden has her finger on the pulse of fashion trends.

Wearing khaki cargos and a mesh top, Michelle was effortlessly elegant in her everyday outfit which she glammed up with gold chunky earrings and a gold watch.

“I got this top from Shein - I think it’s one of those marble, sheer tops. My cargos are from Pretty Little Thing and then I’m just wearing some green Nike dunks," she said.

“My favourite colours to wear are often neutral colours like beige and greens. I think my favourite fashion trend so far this summer has been cargos but also the Molly Mae jacket."
