Manchester rail passengers hit by delays following 'medical incident'
Commuters in Manchester are being warned to expect delays and cancellations this rush hour while paramedics deal with an incident. Northern says some lines are currently blocked while the North West Ambulance Service deals with an incident.
The incident has been affecting services since this afternoon (May 17). Ambulance crews have been called out to the rail line between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street.
Passengers heading between Manchester and Liverpool are being affected. In a series of tweets, a Northern spokesperson said: "Due to the ambulance service dealing with an incident between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street some lines are blocked.

"Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes. Due to the ambulance service dealing with an incident customers travelling to/from Liverpool and Manchester should board services operating via Newton le Willows.
"Ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption." The first service to be affected, the 14.46 from Manchester Oxford Road to Liverpool Lime Street, was delayed by 48 minutes.
