Manchester music legends Bez and Clint Boon will join Miles Kane for three-day ‘mini festival’ at Stockport bar

A Stockport-based bar and live music venue is putting on one of its biggest live music events next weekend with Bez, Miles Kane and Clint Boon set to perform. Dr Feelgood, located in the market area of the town, will host Clint Boon on Thursday 7, Miles Kane on Friday 8 and Bez on Saturday 9.

Dr Feelgood, which caused a stir when it opened in July last year with its multi-coloured burgers and crazy hot wings challenge, has spent several months securing the trio. The bar, restaurant and live music venue is the brainchild of Joseph Patten, who since moving to Stockport a few years ago has been building a portfolio of venues including the Cracked Actor on the Underbanks and the Glass Spider on Vernon Street.

It took Patten four months to secure Miles Kane - best known as a solo artist and as the co-frontman of the Last Shadow Puppets. Tickets to the intimate acoustic set were released last week and sold out in half a day.

"We’re trying to establish ourselves as the home of live music in Stockport as I think we are the dedicated live music venue for the market so far. I want to make this venue legendary as quickly as possible.

"I also really want to push these events to help people realise that Stockport is getting bigger and better. Bigger acts coming here and there’s more interest from artists.

“We’re not just here to copy Manchester, my aim is to add something to it and be better than the rest - not just try and catch up to it. It’s also about backing up all the good things
