Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne's mansion 'trashed by burglars'

The Belgian home of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has reportedly been trashed by burglars who 'used a stepladder to break in'. Reports in Belgium say local police were made aware of a burglary at 9pm on Saturday (December 16).

The incident is believed to have happened at some point between 4pm and 9pm that day, at De Bruyne's mansion in Bolderberg, Heusden-Zolder, in the province of Limburg. Belgian news outlet HLN reports that the burglary was discovered by Michele Lacroix, De Bruyne's wife.

The Limburg public prosecutor's office told HLN: "It was she who contacted the police... Everything was turned upside down, so it is not yet entirely clear what the exact disadvantage is. But at first glance it appears that mainly jewellery has been stolen."

No one was inside the property at the time of the burglary, according to reports. Forensic investigations have since taken place at the villa, which was built in 2019 on a 70-acre plot of land bought by the 32-year-old footballer four years earlier.

It is the property where De Bruyne's family stay when they are visiting Belgium. De Bruyne, who has been recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered on the opening day of the Premier League season, is currently with the City squad as they prepare for the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
