Manchester Airport police board easyJet flight and arrest 'atrocious' woman
Shocking footage has emerged showing a woman in her 50s arrested while on a flight to Manchester. The woman allegedly aimed a stream of racial slurs at fellow passengers as the situation quickly escalated on board the easyJet flight after it took off from Belfast last Friday.
One witness, Shauna Corr, 44, claimed the woman was making 'racist' remarks, and said police boarded the plane when it landed to arrest her.
"The lady involved was a few rows in front of me - I felt very sorry for the couple sat behind her and children on the flight," she said.
"Her language was atrocious and racist, she was making very derogatory comments about people including Muslims - at one stage she even struck out at Ukrainian people."
Other passengers can be seen in the video confronting the woman, demanding she quiet down. A steward also steps in, reprimanding her for her foul language and warning her the police would be called if the behaviour continued.
The woman continues swearing and shouting and is eventually escorted off the aircraft after it landed, however.
Shauna added: "She was just kicking off but I think the stewards handled it really well - it was quite disgusting behaviour."
Shauna said the woman's unruly behaviour began midway through the flight, and claims she even stole some Tayto crisps from a flight attendant without paying.
Shauna said: "When I first heard it I thought it was a kid. But it escalated towards the end of the flight.
"I think the fact it was a middle aged woman shocked people – it's not the type of behaviour you expect from anyone let alone a middle aged woman."
