Man Utd vs Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp demands all three points if game is called off

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool should be handed points if Manchester United fan protests result in Monday’s game being called off.

Liverpool are set to face United at Old Trafford on Monday night with both teams in search of their first win of the Premier League season, but fan protests are expected to come from United fans.

The same fixture was called off two seasons ago due to anti-Glazer protests from thousands of United fans, who managed to breach Old Trafford ahead of kick-off and get the game postponed.

And with pressure still on the Glazer family to finally sell up and leave United behind for good, talk of another protest in an attempt to get Monday’s mammoth clash called off once again has circulated online.

With football still being played behind closed doors at the time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, protesting United fans managed to breach Old Trafford ahead of a scheduled 4:30pm kick-off on 2 May 2021.

Protesters found a way into the ground and made themselves heard in a protest against their owners, who at the time were also being criticised for planning to involve United in the quickly disbanded European Super League.

Speaking to the media ahead of Monday’s fixture, quoted by the Daily Mail, Klopp discussed the prospect of protesting: “I really hope it will not happen but if it happens I think we should get the points.”

He added: “We have nothing to do with the situation if (United) supporters don’t want the game to happen.

“We can’t just rearrange the game again and try to fit it in
