Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag appears to have already made a decision on Marcus Rashford ’s future role with the Red Devils’ transfer priority having now been revealed.
According to The Athletic, United are aiming to welcome a number of new faces to Old Trafford this summer following an underwhelming season under Ralf Rangnick. It has been suggested that they opened talks to sign Benfica hotshot Darwin Nunez weeks ago.
However, amid interest from Liverpool, it is detailed that they have taken a step back regarding their pursuit of the Uruguayan and are instead prioritising bringing in midfield recruits following the departures of Paul Pogba and Juan Mata, whilst Nemanja Matic is also expected to seal an exit from Old Trafford during the upcoming window.
With the Red Devils now expected to pool their resources into welcoming a new midfielder to the club - the likes of Ruben Neves and Youri Tielemans having already been linked - that could well provide a clue into Rashford’s future role in ten Hag’s plans.
