Man Utd told to leave Ten Hag alone as former teammate gives Red Devils inside scoop

Manchester United are under strict instructions to to leave new manager Erik ten Hag Alone, according to reports.

Ten Hag has signed a three-year deal with United and will take over at Old Trafford in the summer.

But reports suggest the Dutch boss is already involved in decision-making processes ahead of next season, with an overhaul expected at United.

He’s also said to be holding individual Zoom meetings with every member of the United squad to assess them in order to ‘hit the ground running’ when he arrives at the club.

But ESPN claim the United bosses have been told in no uncertain terms to leave Ten Hag to focus on Ajax in the 48 hours before games.

The Dutch giants are four points clear at the top of the Eredivisie with four games to play, with PEC Zwolle next up on Saturday.

Ten Hag made the request during negotiations to become the new United boss, which were conducted with Ajax’s schedule in mind.

The report also claims that the United players have started doing their own research on Ten Hag, with some reaching out to former teammate Daley Blind, who returned to Ajax from Old Trafford in 2018.

Blind has informed them of Ten Hag’s strict ‘strict rules for players and his tactical preferences’.

The defender also ‘stressed that Ten Hag has developed a reputation within the Ajax dressing room for putting the team before any individual player’, using the manager’s decision to drop top scorer Sebastien Haller for Brian Bobbey ahead of the Dutch Cup final as an example.
