Man Utd players appear to ignore away fans after Everton defeat

It was a bad afternoon for everyone connected to Manchester United Football Club.

The Red Devils travelled to relegation-threatened Everton fully expecting to come away with all three points.

However, Everton’s Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game to earn Frank Lampard’s side a crucial three points.

As for United, their disappointing campaign goes from bad to worse.

The club will finish the season trophyless once again and it now looks highly unlikely they will be playing Champions League football anytime soon.

Often after defeat this season, United players have come out on social media to post an apology to the supporters. Sorry for the result, sorry for the performance. Blah, blah, blah.

United fans must be pretty tired of it, in truth.

But at least the players often acknowledge the fans in those statements.

That’s because, following the loss to Everton, United players appeared to completely ignore the travelling support as they left the pitch.

Despite walking past them, only Juan Mata at the very start of the footage and Jadon Sancho at the very end of the clip show any acknowledgement whatsoever.

Meanwhile, the United supporters allowed their anger to get the better of them in what can be described as a toxic atmosphere.

After the clip emerged online, United fans have slammed many of the players for failing to even clap the away end.

It may not be the biggest thing in the world but after giving up their Saturday to watch a dreadful 90 minute performance, that’s the least they deserve.
