Man Utd now facing 'massive blow' over £450k-a-week duo vs Man City
Manchester United attacking pair Antony Martial and Marcus Rashford missing the Manchester derby would be a “massive blow”, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
The £450,000 per-week duo have both been out injured in recent weeks, but are back in contention for the trip to the Etihad Stadium later today.
Despite injuring himself almost a month ago, due to the postponement of United’s last two Premier League games, the only fixture Rashford has missed was the Europa League tie with Sheriff.
But Rashford had emerged as a doubt for the clash across the city following a muscle problem sustained against Arsenal in early-September.
Meanwhile, Martial has missed the Red Devils’ last five games, with his second half substitute outing in the win over Liverpool his only appearance this season.

The Frenchman is also suffering from a muscle problem after injuring his hamstring in the game against the Reds back in August.
United have won their last four Premier League games and head to City hoping to secure five league wins on the bounce for the first time since April 2021.
Their hopes of achieving they feat will be boosted by both Rashford and Martial returning to training ahead of the game, which means they’re now in a race against time to be fit.
Despite being back in contention, Jones reckons it would be a major blow if they’re not passed fit.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “If Martial and Rashford are both out that would be a massive blow for the derby.”
United have coped well enough without Martial during the opening few months of the season, so him being unavailable won’t be a major issue.
