Man Utd news: Ralf Rangnick promises to help 'change everything for the better' in new role

Ralf Rangnick has confirmed he will remain at Manchester United in a consultancy role next season and plans to help Erik ten Hag to 'change everything'.

Rangnick has struggled in his initial remit as Man Utd head coach and Ajax boss ten Hag has been appointed to take the reigns this summer.

"Yes I will be (here next season)," he said. "I'm looking forward to working in that advisory role and obviously help Erik as much as he wants it himself.

"But obviously I'm more than willing and prepared to help both Erik and whomever in the club in order to change everything for the better."

Having chased Champions League football all season but are now sure to miss out, leaving the Europa League or Europa Conference League their only remaining hopes of European football next season.

Rangnick, though, says his players cannot consider losing games by design and he won't allow it.

"For us it's clear and this is our obligation, this is our job, my job, the job of the players that we try to get the best possible results and then we will see at the end of the season in which position we will finish.

"For me, it's important that we get results, that we play as good as we possibly can because this will also affect the atmosphere and mood for the new season."
