Man Utd: Jamie Carragher's Cristiano Ronaldo tweet after they lose to Middlesbrough
Manchester United are out of the FA Cup after losing at home to Middlesbrough on Friday night.
A strong United side were heavy favourites to beat Chris Wilder’s team but squandered a golden opportunity to take the lead when Cristiano Ronaldo missed a 20th-minute penalty.
But the home side were ahead five minutes later with Jadon Sancho scoring his third goal for the club.

In truth, the Red Devils really should have added to their advantage.
By the end of the 120 minutes, Ralf Rangnick’s men had a quite ridiculous 30 shots with nine troubling Middlesbrough goalkeeper, Joe Lumley.
But they were made to pay.
Midway through the first half, Matt Crooks equalised for ‘Boro – a goal which appeared to give the travellers hope.
And it was that hope they held onto as they forced the match into extra-time and then penalties.
And after 15 successful penalties, it was 18-year-old Anthony Elanga who missed the crucial spot-kick. United were out and Middlesbrough were through.
It added to what has been a miserable campaign for United so far.
After being touted as possible title contenders ahead of the season, they find themselves 19 points off rivals Manchester City in the Premier League. They scraped through their weak Champions League group but now they’re out of both domestic cups.
And one man was quick to celebrate United’s failure – Jamie Carragher. And there was one point he wanted to make.
