Man Utd: £58m star 'will have to push' for Old Trafford move

Manchester United target Christian Pulisic will ‘have to push’ for a move from Chelsea this summer, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks after struggling for game time last season and could be the latest star to join Erik ten Hag’s revolution at United.

Andy Mitten of The Athletic has reported that United are ‘considering’ taking Pulisic on loan for the 2022/23 campaign in order to solve their impotent attack.

Newcastle United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have also made approaches for the USA international, who is eager to play more minutes ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Mitten states that Chelsea are aware of Pulisic’s frustrations and would be willing to listen to offers for him, with Old Trafford currently his destination of choice.

The Blues splashed out £58 million to secure the skilful winger’s signature from Borussia Dortmund back in January 2019, but he has failed to secure a regular starting berth under both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel.

Pulisic now only has two years remaining on his existing £150,000-per-week contract with Chelsea, and it seems as though his days at the club are numbered.

Jones has informed GiveMeSport that Chelsea have ‘been happy’ for the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi to seek pastures new this summer but may take more persuading to let Pulisic exit the club.

He said: “Pulisic has wanted a transfer for weeks, but so far, the stance has been that Chelsea don’t want him to go.

“They have been happy for Werner, Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi to go, but Pulisic not so much. So, he’ll have to push for this [United move].”

Pulisic made his name at Dortmund, registering 19 goals
