Man Utd: £50m star now has 'genuine interest' at Old Trafford

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is attracting “genuine interest” from Roma, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The right-back’s Old Trafford future is currently in doubt and Jones believes the Europa Conference League winners are serious about bringing him to the Italian capital.

According to The Sun, the ex-Crystal Palace ace wants to sign fresh terms at Old Trafford, with his current deal expiring in two years, but the 24-year-old has been told to wait to find out whether he’s set to be part of Erik ten Hag’s plans following his recent slip down the pecking order.

Wan-Bissaka was United’s first choice right-back for his first couple of seasons after making the £50m move, but his drop off in form last term saw Diogo Dalot to move ahead of him.

As a result, he featured just 20 times in the Premier League and started only seven games from December onwards, which has led to uncertainty over his future.

A return to Palace on loan has been mentioned, although Jones believes that a switch to the Stadio Olimpico, which would see him link up with ex-United boss Jose Mourinho, could also be on the cards.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “At a time when there aren’t many genuine paths for Wan-Bissaka, I’m hearing that there is genuine interest from Roma so that could be an interesting one that would help Ten Hag make space in an area that needs improving quickly.”
