Man Utd: £350k-a-week star tipped for 'big impact' under Ten Hag at Old Trafford

Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho will be a player to watch under incoming manager Erik ten Hag next season, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Ten Hag is due to arrive at Old Trafford this summer, and one of his main tasks could be figuring out how to get the best out of Sancho.

Having joined United in a £73m deal from Borussia Dortmund last summer, a lot was expected of Sancho in his first year back in England.

He got off to a disappointing start, though, registering just a single Premier League goal by the end of January.

It looked like he may have turned a corner when he scored twice and provided three assists in six league appearances in February and March.

However, he has failed to deliver a goal contribution in his last five matches, and has missed three games on the trot due to tonsillitis, summing up what has been a difficult campaign for the 22-year-old.

O’Rourke has admitted that Sancho has been underwhelming this year, but he is intrigued to see how the £350,000-a-week winger fares under ten Hag in 2022/23.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, O’Rourke said: “I think it’s going to be an interesting watch to see what ten Hag does with Jadon Sancho. He probably hasn’t lived up to expectations this season, I think it’s fair to say.

“We’ve seen glimpses of what he can do. He will be looking to have a bigger impact himself next season. He’ll have one year under his belt at the club, so he’ll be a bit more settled.”

Sancho has struggled to get to grips with the Premier League this season, but he will be desperate to kick on in his second campaign at United.
