Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool: Anthony Martial tells ball boy to slow down in brilliant clip

Anthony Martial made a brilliant return to action in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday.

Injury to the Frenchman has forced him out of each of United’s opening two Premier League fixtures despite proving crucial to Erik ten Hag’s attack throughout pre-season.

But, he made his return as a substitute for Anthony Elanga and played an incredible 45 minutes as United beat Liverpool at Old Trafford to register their first win of the season.

After being outplayed completely in their opening first two games of the season and falling to defeat against Brighton and Brentford, many United fans feared the worst with Jurgen Klopp’s side heading to Old Trafford in game three.

It’s been another disappointing summer in the transfer market with Ten Hag having been given just four new players so far despite many believing United needed an overhaul, with latest recruit Casemiro presented to fans ahead of kick-off.

Ten Hag changed things up with his starting XI for the contest after a 4-0 mauling away to Brentford and got the response he was looking for. United were electric from the first whistle and took the game to Liverpool, taking a deserved lead after 16 minutes through Jadon Sancho.

Marcus Rashford then doubled that lead after the break thanks to an assist from Martial, as United continued to look dangerous and much improved.

It was a dismal night for the visitors who underwhelmed massively and are now without a win in any of their opening three Premier League games this season. They did enjoy a brief spell of dominance in the second half, though, and had United feeling somewhat nervy as Mohamed Salah made it 2-1 after 81 minutes.
