Manchester United's January transfer window has got off to a slow start this month and there is every chance it will remain this way if Ruben Amorim is correct.

The Portuguese head coach insisted on Friday no talks were taking place over changes to his squad. Amorim also admitted he did not expect any of his players to request an exit in January.

This could be good news for those wishing to see Kobbie Mainoo stay at United beyond this month. Mainoo requested a loan exit in the summer but this was rejected.

He is currently recovering from injury which could mean a transfer request is down his list of priorities. Should Mainoo become available, there will undoubtedly be plenty of clubs both in the Premier League and abroad wishing to snap him up.

Carlos Baleba's name continues to be linked with United too. The Brighton man was on the Reds' radar in the summer but his price tag was deemed too high for Ineos to pursue.
