Man United transfer news LIVE: Amorim press conference, Lewandowski message, Gyokeres updates

For Manchester United's new head coach Ruben Amorim, today is likely to be the day when the extent of the challenge that lies ahead of him becomes real.

The Portuguese will face the media for the very first time as United boss ahead of this Sunday's clash with Ipswich Town in the Premier League. Since becoming the new boss, Amorim's media duties have remained either in-house or in front of the Portuguese journalists while still Sporting manager.

However, today marks his first press conference in the United Kingdom as the Reds' boss and we can expect the new manager to touch on plenty of topics. As well as previewing his Premier League debut; transfers, future goals and his assessment of the current squad are likely to all be on the agenda too.

While Amorim talking to the media is the big talking point of the day, there are other areas to focus on too. The January transfer window is just around the corner and speculation about potential signings is beginning to hot up.

Viktor Gyokeres continues to be linked with the Reds however a deal for the Swede is more likely to be completed in the summer than this winter.
